Thompson, Kay

(1912–  ) actress, singer, writer; born in St. Louis, Mo. She began her career as a pianist (1928), and built a career as a singer, arranger, composer, choreographer, and actress. Based primarily in Beverly Hills, Calif., she launched a second career with her children's series, beginning with Eloise: A Book for Precocious Grown Ups (1955).
