Thread Chaser

 

a tool for cutting a male thread; a plate with a threaded opening in which there are slits for forming cutting edges. Unlike threading dies, the thread chaser is a permanent tool and yields a more precise thread (particularly in the case of small diameters).

A benefit of this type is that no special tools are required in assembly, unlike pipe connections, which require thread chasers and dies to make up the threads.
