## three-phase current

[′thrē ¦fāz ′kə·rənt]
(electricity)
Current delivered through three wires, with each wire serving as the return for the other two and with the three current components differing in phase successively by one-third cycle, or 120 electrical degrees.

As can be seen from Figure 17, the grounding short-circuit fault of phase A occurs when t = 3 s (Figure 17(a)), and the three-phase current of AC grid is seriously asymmetric (Figure 17(b)); there is the second-order harmonic component in the DC voltage (Figure 17(c)); the DC component of the three-phase circulating current is not symmetrical (Figure 17(d)); the amplitude of the capacitor ripple voltage of the SM is increased (Figure 17(e)).

Three-phase voltages and three-phase current signals of both the circuits obtained through Matlab simulation are sampled at a sampling frequency of 1 kHz and further processed by simple second-order low-pass Butterworth filter with cut off frequency of 400 Hz.

A separate DC input and a means of monitoring motor speed are combined with three-phase current and voltage measurements to completely characterize the drive's performance.
Power flows from the battery to an inverter that converts the energy into a three-phase current. The power can then be directed to motors that control traction, lifting hydraulics and steering.
