Ticket Stamper

 

a device for stamping railroad tickets and other documents of passage. Stamping consists of piercing or impressing the ticket with such data as the date (day, month, and year), the time of departure, and the number of the train for which the passenger is given the ticket. The ticket is stamped, either manually or electronically, when the ticket is made up and sold.
