Tigiretskii Range

 

a mountain range in the northwestern Altai. The Tigiretskii Range rises to an elevation of 2,299 m. It is composed primarily of granites and extrusive rocks. To elevations of 600–800 m, the range is covered with steppe vegetation; to 1,800 m there are taiga forests of fir, larch, and cedar; and higher there are alpine meadows and mountain tundra.
