Size: 250 acres.
Established: Proclaimed on October 14, 1922; transferred from Forest Service on August 10, 1933.
Location:In north-central Utah, within 10 miles of Lehi, American Fork, and Pleasant Grove. UT 92 runs east-west through the monument.
Facilities:Picnic area, restaurant/snacks (é), visitor center (é), museum/exhibit, self-guided tour/trail.
Activities:Hiking, fishing, ranger-guided programs (including cave tours).
Special Features:Three moderate-sized limestone caves sit high on the rocky slopes of American Fork Canyon in the shadow of Mount Timpanogos. They are decorated with a dazzling display of helictites, stalactites, stalagmites, and other unusual formations. Caves are generally open from mid-May through September.
