Group of skin diseases caused by various fungi, for example, tinea pedis (athlete's foot) and tinea capitis (ringworm infection of the scalp).

Tinea manuum is often seen in association with tinea pedis and onychomycosis.
Other types of dermatophytosis like tinea cruris, tinea pedis, tinea capitis, tinea barbae, tinea manuum, tinea unguium and cutaneous candidiasis were excluded from the study.
