Titov, Vasilii Polikarpovich

 

Born circa 1650; died possibly in 1710. Russian composer and court chorister deacon in Moscow.

Titov was one of the first masters of Russian choral polyphony. He composed sacred concerti, psalms, cantatas, and the “Mnogoletie” (Many Years’ Life), a song popular in the Russian Orthodox Church.
