Todzhikistoni Soveti

 

(Tochikistoni soveti; Soviet Tadzhikistan), the republic newspaper of the Tadzhik SSR, published in Tadzhik. Todzhikistoni soveti is published in Dushanbe six times a week. Founded in March 1925, Todzhikistoni soveti originally appeared as a bulletin under the title Idi todzhik (Holiday of the Tadzhiks). From April 1925 through October 1928 it appeared as Bedori todzhik (The Awakening of the Tadzhiks). Thereafter until December 1954 it was Todzhikistoni surkh (Red Tadzhikistan). The present title was adopted in 1955. Circulation, 200,000 (1975).
