Toolbar-Mounted Agricultural Machinery

The following article is from The Great Soviet Encyclopedia (1979). It might be outdated or ideologically biased.

Toolbar-Mounted Agricultural Machinery

agricultural machines and implements mounted on a tractor or self-propelled frame. The tractor carries such machines in the transportation or operational position. This principle of aggregating made possible great simplification of the design of mounted agricultural machines and an increase in their efficiency, since they are much lighter than trailing (hitched) machines, have better maneuverability and are operated and controlled by a single tractor operator (using a hydraulic system).

Industry also produces toolbar-mounted machines for other sectors of the national economy (for example, road-building and construction machinery).
