Torfianaia Promyshlennost’

 

(Peat Industry), a monthly trade journal published in Moscow by the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the Ministry of the Fuel Industry of the RSFSR, and the Ministry of the Peat Industry of the Byelorussian SSR. The journal was founded in 1924 under the title Torfianoe delo (Peat Industry) and renamed Za torfianuiu promyshlennost’ (For the Peat Industry) in 1935; the present title was adopted in 1941. The journal reports on achievements in the extraction and use of peat, the mechanization of production processes, advanced production methods, socialist competition, and the work of efficiency experts in the peat industry. Circulation, 7,185 (1975).
