Sister Cities

cities of different countries that have established direct friendly relations for the strengthening of mutual understanding between the peoples and for the cultural cooperation and exchange of experience to solve the similar problems that the city authorities and organizations face. The phenomenon of sister cities promotes the development of good relations between the populations. Friendly relations between cities with similar histories play a great role in the struggle for peace throughout the world. In 1957 representatives of sister cities founded the World Federation of Sister Cities.
