Trifluoperazine

 

(or triftazin), one of the psychotropic drugs. Trifluoperazine has a more active antipsychotic effect than chlorpromazine. It also has a marked antiemetic effect. It is used internally and intramuscularly in the treatment of schizophrenia and manic-depressive psychosis.

Prescribed typical antipsychotics within the study period included chlorpromazine, clopenthixol, clothiapine, droperidol, flupentixol, fluphenazine, haloperidol, levomepromazine, loxapine, methotrimeprazine, perphenazine, pipotiazine, sulpiride, thioridazine, thiothixene, and trifluoperazine. The individual medications of atypical antipsychotics comprised amisulpride, clozapine, olanzapine, quetiapine, risperidone, and zotepine.
