Trillin, Calvin (Marshall)

(1935–  ) author; born in Kansas City, Mo. A Yale graduate, he was a New Yorker staff writer (1963) and columnist for the Nation and national syndication (1978). His essays reported sympathetically on ordinary American life and passionately on food and were collected in such volumes as American Fried (1974).
