In north-central TN, northeast of Nashville; organized Jan 21, 1870 from Macon, Smith, Wilson, and Sumner counties. Name Origin: For Gen. William Trousdale (1790-1872), TN legislator, governor (1849-51), and U.S. minister to Brazil (1852-57)
