Tsagan-Shibetu

 

a mountain range in the southwestern part of the Tuva ASSR and the northwestern part of the Mongolian People’s Republic. Tsagan-Shibetu is approximately 130 km long and has elevations up to 3,496 m. The range is composed primarily of Paleozoic shales and extrusive rocks. Steppes predominate on its slopes, and larch forests, in the valleys of the northern part. Above 2,300–2,400 m, mountain tundra is found.
