Turhal

 

a city in northern Turkey, in Tokat Vilayet. Population, 29,000 (1970). Turhal is the commercial center of an agricultural region that produces sugar beets and grain. The city has sugar refineries and distilleries, and antimony and sepiolite (meerschaum) are mined in the area.
