Regar

 

a city (until 1952, the settlement of Stantsiia Regar) and administrative center of Regar Raion, Tadzhik SSR. Located in the western Gissar Valley. Railroad station on the Dushanbe-Termez line, 57 km west of Dushanbe. Population, 21,000 (1974). Regar has the Stroiinstrument Factory and cotton-ginning and aluminum plants.
