USB Power Delivery

USB Power Delivery

USB Power Delivery (USB PD) provides the rules for generating power using USB-C cables, which have the extra wire over which USB PD communicates. USB PD defines five levels as follows. For example, a USB port rated at 50 watts supports 3 amps at 5, 9 and 15 volts, as well as 2.5 amps at 20 volts (50 divided by 20). See USB power, USB Type C and PoweredUSB.
