Uberaba

 

a city in southeastern Brazil, in the state of Minas Gérais. Population, 110,300 (1970). Uberaba has a railroad station and is a highway junction. It is the center of a livestockbreeding region. Local industry includes the processing of agricultural raw materials.

This area was chosen because of the occurrence of a serious railway accident near the banks of Alegria Creek, 15 km from the pumping station for public water supply of Uberaba city.
