[‚əm·bə′lā·lēz] (botany)
An order of dicotyledonous herbs or woody plants in the subclass Rosidae with mostly compound or conspicuously lobed or dissected leaves, well-developed schizogenous secretory canals, separate petals, and an inferior ovary.
