an urban-type settlement in Zubova Poliana Raion, Mordovian ASSR. Umet has a railroad station (Teplyi Stan) on the Moscow-Kuibyshev line. There is a wood-products combine in the settlement.

an urban-type settlement and the administrative center of Umet Raion, Tambov Oblast, RSFSR. Situated on the upper Viazhlia River of the Don River basin, Umet has a railroad station on the Tambov-Saratov line, 112 km east of Tambov. It also has a butter factory and a grain elevator.
