Urai

 

a city (since 1965) under okrug jurisdiction in KhantyMansi Autonomous Okrug (formerly Khanty-Mansi National Okrug), Tiumen’ Oblast, RSFSR. Urai is a landing on the Konda River. The city was founded as a result of the discovery and development of the Shaim oilfield located nearby. A building-materials plant and a prefabricated-housing combine are located in Urai.
