Urgut

 

a city (since 1973) and the administrative center of Urgut Raion, Samarkand Oblast, Uzbek SSR. Urgut is located in the foothills of the Zeravshan Range, 44 km southeast of Samarkand. The city has a cloth-weaving factory and a people’s amateur theater.
