a city (since 1958) and administrative center of Ust’-Labinsk Raion, Krasnodar Krai, RSFSR. Situated on the right bank of the Kuban’ River at its confluence with the Laba, the city has a railroad station on the Kavkazskaia-Krasnodar railroad line that is 62 km northeast of Krasnodar. Ust’-Labinsk is a highway junction. The city has enterprises of the food-processing industry, including a sugar refinery, a meat-packing plant, a combine for the production of essential oils, a creamery, and a combine for the manufacture of agricultural machinery, as well as a grain elevator. Other enterprises include a brickyard, a machine shop, and a repair shop for the manufacture of spare parts and the repair of equipment for the sugar industry. Ust’-Lubinsk has a teacher training school.
