Uzhur

 

a city and administrative center of Uzhur Raion, Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR. Served by a railroad station on the Achinsk-Abakan line, 339 km southwest of Krasnoiarsk. Population, 22,600 (1976). Uzhur has a meat-packing plant, a milk plant, a grain elevator, and enterprises serving railroad transportation. There is a people’s amateur theater located in the city.
