Uzunlar

 

a village in Alaverdi Raion, Armenian SSR. Important architectural monuments preserved in Uzunlar include a naved basilica (fifth century), a large basilica (sixth and seventh centuries) with an exterior gallery, and a grave monument (fifth and sixth centuries) in the form of a wall with arched openings. There are also one- and two-storied homes from the 18th and 19th centuries (glhatuny) with vaults featuring openings for light and smoke.
