Valki

 

a city, administrative center of Valki Raion, Kharkov Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located on the Mzha River (Don Basin), 12 km from the Koviagi railroad station, on the Kharkov-Kiev highway, 55 km southwest of Kharkov. Population, 7,200 (1968). The production of building materials (brick, slag stone, and concrete rings) is carried on. There are also clothing and furniture factories. Valki was established in 1646.
