Vanishing Point

the apparent point of intersection of parallel lines in perspective representations. It is located at the intersection of the picture plane and the line of sight parallel to the lines.

vanishing point

In perspective, a point toward which a series of parallel lines seem to converge.

vanishing point

The image in the plane of a photograph of the point toward which a system of parallel lines in the object space converges. Since any system of parallel lines in the object space will meet at infinity, the image of the meeting point will be formed by the ray through the perspective center and it will be parallel to the system.
