Venus' flytrap
[′vē·nəs ′flī‚trap] (botany)
Dionaea muscipula. An insectivorous plant (order Sarraceniales) of North and South Carolina; the two halves of a leaf blade can swing upward and inward as though hinged, thus trapping insects between the closing halves of the leaf blade.
