Vest Fjord

Vest Fjord

 

a strait between the coast of the Scandinavian Peninsula and the Lofoten Islands. It is 203 km long and has a width ranging from 11 km in the north to 75 km in the south. There are strong tides and whirlpools. Vest Fjord is an important area for catching cod and herring.
