Victorian Romanesque style
Victorian Romanesque style(1870–1890)
A polychromatic exterior combined with the semicircular arch highlight this style. Different colored stone or brick for window trim, arches, quoins, and belt courses contrasts with the stone wall surface. Decorative bricks and terracotta tiles are also used. Round arches are supported by short polished stone columns. Foliated forms, including grotesques and arabesques, decorate the capitals and corbels. Windows vary in size and shape.
