Vietnamese Information Agency

 

(Viet-Namthong Tan Xa; VNTTX), the Vietnamese press agency. Founded in 1945 under the government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV). It provides the press of the Democratic Re-public of Vietnam with domestic and international news and transmits daily news items abroad on the political, economic, and cultural life of the DRV. Its main office is in Hanoi. The agency has correspondents stationed in a number of cities in the DRV, as well as in all socialist and some capitalist countries. It maintains close ties with many press agencies throughout the world.
