Vikhorevka

 

a city in Bratsk Raion, Irkutsk Oblast, RSFSR, located on the left bank of the Vikhoreva River (a tributary of the Angara). Railroad station on the Tai-shet-Lena line, 35 km southwest of Bratsk. Population, 17,000 (1969). Vikhorevka has a lumbering combine and railroad transportation enterprises. It was established in 1957 in connection with the construction of the railroad and has been a city since 1966.

Voting took place from March 18 to 23 in 15 cities of the region: Irkutsk, Angarsk, Bratsk, Vikhorevka (Bratsky district), Zima, Sayansk, Tulun, Usolye-Siberian, Ust-Ilimsk, Cheremkhovo, Zheleznogorsk-Ilim, Shelekhovo, Nizhneudinsk, Taishet, Ust-Kut, as well as in the village of Markovo in the Irkutsk region.
