WPAN

(Wireless Personal Area Network) Wireless transmission over a short distance. For example, Bluetooth is widely used to provide wireless connectivity from a cellphone to a headset or vehicle audio system. In the home, WPANs are expected to provide cable-free connections for alarms, appliances and entertainment systems. There are numerous technologies that fall under the WPAN umbrella from the IEEE (see 802.15). See UWB, Bluetooth, wireless LAN, Passive Wi-Fi and personal area network.

The following graph shows the comparison of the above two graphs, and it shows that the lifetime of network is extended when setting priorities to WPANs.
Through establishing a weighted vector form of interconnection beam pairs for WPAN DEVs, we set up a DEV interconnection mechanism based on the beam codebook for 60GHz-WPAN and realize fast free switch for every communication DEV when link blockage happening.
Even if you knew what WPANs and WLANs and WMANs were, do you have to use them in the headline?
Effective routing protocols in the WPANs are also needed to support all possible services and their QoS constraints.
The main goals of a WPAN are ease of installation, reliable data transfer, short-range (within 20 meters) operation, extremely low cost and a reasonable battery life, while maintaining a simple and flexible protocol.
Based on the research, many of the existing standards are unlikely to dominate the IoT and could evolve to become specialist or niche standards because they are not capable of performing all the required network functions, including streaming data, large file transfers and messaging across the diversity of devices that require WPAN technology.

These concerned: Japanese regulation for the 60 GHz band; mmW frequency allocation in Europe; a proposed mmW WPAN concept; proposed technical requirements for mmW WPANs; and mmW propagation modeling for WPANs.
As part of SystemVue's W1915 mmWave WPAN library, the wideband waveform creation application allows designers to use compliant WiGig and 802.
This increase opens the door for the broad use of multi-media, digital imaging, high quality audio and other high bandwidth WPAN applications that need a wireless solution combining low cost and low power with high data rates and robust quality of service (QoS).
Other WPAN examples include Bluetooth, ultra-wideband (UWB), ZigBee and IrDA.
Mesh peer-to-peer technology may also show up in the home of the future, possibly to extend the range of WLAN or WPAN technologies.
