Walker, (Addison Mortimer) Mort

(1923–  ) cartoonist; born in El Dorado, Kans. In 1940 he created the popular newspaper comic strip, Beetle Bailey, featuring a shiftless soldier and his friends. He also created and served as author of Hi and Lois, Fitz's Flats, and Boner's Ark.
