Wanger, Walter

Wanger, Walter (b. Walter Feuchtwanger)

(1884–1968) film producer; born in San Francisco (husband of Joan Bennett). After service in World War I, he joined Paramount as a producer, later moving to Columbia and MGM before going independent. Among his more ambitious films were Stagecoach (1939) and Joan of Arc (1948).
