Wesselman, Tom

(1931–  ) painter; born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, at Cooper Union (c. 1961), and remained in New York City. A pop artist, he specialized in paintings of everyday objects, collages, and, beginning in the 1960s, erotic themes, as in his continuing series, The Great American Nude.
