(brŭm`ĭj, –ĭch, brŏm`wĭch), town, Sandwell borough, W central England. On the site of a 12th-century Benedictine priory, West Bromwich has foundries and engineering and chemical works. a city in Great Britain. The administrative reorganization of 1973–75 placed West Bromwich in the Sandwell metropolitan district and the West Midlands metropolitan county. Industries include machine building and metalworking.
