Weyerhaeuser, George (Hunt)

(1926–  ) lumber executive; born in Seattle, Wash. A Yale graduate, he joined Tacoma-based Weyerhaeuser Company, the family business, in 1949, working as a mill foreman and branch manager before joining the executive ranks in 1957. Variously president, CEO, and chairman (1966), he rejuvenated the company through restructuring, expansion, diversification, and aggressive marketing.
