Wherry, Kenneth (Spicer)

(1892–1951) U.S. senator; born in Liberty, Nebr. Active in state politics, he was elected to the U.S. Senate (Rep., Nebr.; 1943–51). A thorough conservative and isolationist, he served as Republican floor leader (1947–51).
