Wind River

a mountain range in the USA, in the Rocky Mountains. Measuring about 150 km in length, the Wind River Range rises to an elevation of 4,202 m. There are ancient granite outcroppings in the axial zone and limestones and sandstones on the slopes. The range bears traces of ancient glaciation. Coniferous forests grow on the slopes; the summits are covered by alpine meadows.
