Worthington, L. Valentine

Worthington, L. (Lawrence) Valentine

(1920–  ) oceanographer; born in London, England. He came to the U.S.A. in 1938. He spent his professional career at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (1941–82) except for his three years in the U.S. Navy (1943–46). He made major contributions to the study of deep-water North Atlantic currents.
