XHTML

(EXtensible HTML) A markup language for Web pages from the W3C. XHTML combines HTML and XML into a single format (HTML 4.0 and XML 1.0). Like XML, XHTML can be extended with proprietary tags. Also like XML, XHTML must be coded more rigorously than HTML. Over the years, HTML coders have become sloppy, because Web browser software was originally written to tolerate many variations in HTML coding. With XHTML, coders must conform to the rules. See HTML, XML and XHTML+Voice.

Owing to their higher T, it is expected that Lexan XHT resins would have higher RTI rating.
Lexan XHT resins with [T.sub.g] of 165[degrees]C and 185[degrees]C were used in the study.
Erwin Reitberger, S+S Branch Manager - Plastics Industry, on the new systems in high-temperature version: "S+S magnet systems and metal separators of the HT and accordingly XHT range prevent malfunctions in the production of preforms and caps and closures.
Another newly released series is Lexan XHT (extra-high-temperature), which are clear, flame-retardant grades for use temperatures from 140 C to 195 C (284-383 F).
The new resins--Lexan HFD, XHT, FST, DMX, SLX, and EXL--exhibit "high heat resistance, excellent flow/ductility, virtually unbreakable impact strength, scratch protection, flame-smoke-toxicity performance, and enhanced UV protection," the company says.
The highest heat resistance is provided by Ultem XHT, introduced at NPE 2003 as Lexan XH6050.
New resins for lighting applications have been developed by GE Advanced Materials, including Ultem XHT (Xtreme Heat) for fog-lamp reflectors and other applications requiring high heat resistance.
