Yanbu

 

(also Yenbo), a city and port in Saudi Arabia, on the Red Sea. Population, approximately 10,000. Yanbu is connected by highway with Medina, Jidda, and Mecca. It has a commercial fishing industry. Black coral and amber are gathered in the vicinity. In 1978 an oil refinery with a capacity of 12.5 million tons per year was under construction. Petroleum will be delivered to the refinery by a pipeline.

The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu recently signed four contracts worth SR526 million ($140.25 million) to construct various buildings and infrastructure.
The third contract is for construction of a main overpass and earthworks to link main highway with industrial and residential areas in Yanbu Industrial City.

A source at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Yanbu told a local newspaper that, "Quantities of cement bags are largely available on the local market.

The US Consul General also visited the Yanbu Flower Festival 13 organized by the Royal Commission in Yanbu.
SAUDI International Insulation Manufacturing Company (Siimco), a joint venture equally owned by Alghanim Industries and Saint-Gobain, has signed an agreement with the Yanbu Royal Commission to lease a 65,000 sq m site at Yanbu Al Sinaiyah.
