a river in Thailand, one of the tributaries of the Chao-Phraya River (also called Mae Nam or Mae Nam Chao Phraya).It originates in north Thailand on the Phi Pan plateau and flowsacross the Mae Nam Lowlands. Length, about 500 km. Flow isheaviest in the summer and follows a monsoon pattern. The riveris used for timber rafting and irrigation.
