Yount, George (Concepcion)

(1794–1865) California pioneer, trapper; born in Dowden Creek, N.C. He trapped along the Arizona rivers before going to California with William Wolfskill (1830–31). He became a Mexican citizen (1835) and settled in Sacramento in 1836.
