Youth League of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (Omakhrr)

 

a group of young artists associated with the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (AKhRR). It was founded in 1925 by students of the Leningrad Vkhutein (Higher Art and Technical Institute) and of the Moscow Vkhutemas (State Higher Arts and Technical Studios). In theory and organization, the leadership of OMAKhRR was influenced by the ideas of the Proletkul’t (Proletarian Cultural and Educational Organization). In 1928 the organization was renamed the Youth League of the Association of Artists of the Revolution (OMAKhR).
