13,113 ft (3,997 m) high, S Taiwan; highest peak on the island. It was first ascended in 1896 by a Japanese expedition.

Yushan County, which bills itself as the 'first billiard sports capital' worldwide, is indicative of China's hopes to play a major role in the growth of snooker.
The best-known example of coral-stromatoporoid reefs is exposed in the lower part of the Xiazhen Formation at Zhuzhai (Yushan County, Jiangxi Province).
It records that in 1351 a man named Zhang Wenjin, who appears not to have been an official, presented these two vases and an incense burner (the whereabouts of which is unknown) to a Daoist temple in Yushan county in northeast Jiangxi, which lies southeast of Jingdezhen, where these vases were made.
