Zacapa

 

a city in eastern Guatemala, capital of Zacapa Department. Population, 13,000 (1973). A railroad junction, Zacapa is the center of an agricultural region that grows sugarcane, tobacco, corn, and beans and raises livestock. Hats are produced from palm leaves, and there is production of sugar, cigars, vegetable oil, and cheese.
